What is a Library of Things?
A Library of Things lets you borrow useful items at a low cost. Its affordable, practical and community powered!
What will I be able to borrow from the Library of Things?
We are starting to build our inventory with the help of the community. We will have garden tools, household items, jigsaws, tents, and much much more! See our inventory at https://ramelibraryofthings.myturn.com
What does it cost?
Become a member of Rame Library of Things for £15/year for individuals (includes 10 borrowing credits), or £50/year for supporters. We also plan to introduce a temporary membership for one month for visitors to the area. Then, each borrow will cost from £1.00 for 7 days, some items will be more than this to borrow. We will give the option to buy consumables from us when you pick up your item (eg: if you are borrowing a sander, you will need sandpaper, which we can provide at a reasonable cost).
What is a Borrowing Credit?
Borrowing Credits can be used against the cost of borrowing an item. An items value dictates its number of borrowing credits (For example: a screwdriver would be one credit, but a dehumidifier would be 5).

Can you deliver my item?
Yes! For now while we work on finding a central, easy access location we will be delivering, or will arrange to meet you somewhere to hand over the item.
Will the items be clean and with instructions?
Yes! All items will be clean and ready for use. If useful, they will have instructions as well.
How long can I borrow an item for?
Borrows are for 7 days, but please get in touch if you need it for longer. If someone has reserved it, we will not be able to extend your booking, but we will try to be flexible in other cases. We have a maximum borrowing period of 30 days per item and a maximum borrowing limit of 10 items in that 30 days.
Do you charge a late fee?
Yes we do. To ensure that the items are ready for the next borrower, a late fee will be charged at the price of the whole borrow plus £2.00/day.
What happens if I break an item?
We are aware that accidents, and wear and tear happen. However, if it is clear that unreasonable damage has been done to the item, you will be charged for its replacement. Please contact us as soon as an issue comes up and we will be in touch.
What if I need some consumables with my item?
Sometimes, you might need a consumable to go with a tool (for example, if you borrow a sander, you will need sandpaper) that cannot be re-used. We will give you an option to buy the consumables from us when you come to pick up your item.
I'd like to borrow an item that's not on the inventory. What do I do?
Get in touch! Let us know what you need and we will see if we can source it for you.
I'd like to donate something. What do I do?
